Assure ID Inc. ("Assure ID", the "Company", or "we/us") is committed to respecting and protecting your privacy and that of your family. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the personal data collected and processed through our Services, and it forms part of our Assure ID Terms of Service.
Our Services include: (1) the Assure ID web portal and family management platform; (2) the Assure ID mobile application for iOS; (3) the Assure ID child application for iOS, which runs on a child's device and delivers in-the-moment guidance and, where enabled, device-level content controls; (4) the Assure ID browser extension, which powers the Assure ID AI Assistant (the "AI Assistant") on supported browsers; and (5) associated features including content curation, family agreement tools, and device and app assessment tools. Where practices differ between these surfaces, this policy distinguishes between them.
Assure ID processes: account and contact data; child profile data you provide (names or nicknames and dates of birth of minors in your household); preferences and settings you provide to set up and personalize the Services; child activity data collected through the extension and child application; and data generated by the AI Assistant on your behalf.
COPPA requires us to inform parents and legal guardians about how we collect, use, and disclose personal information from children under 13, and to obtain verifiable parental consent for certain of those activities.
Assure ID is a parental tool. Accounts are created and controlled by a parent or legal guardian. Our Services include software that runs on a child's device and browser and that collects information about the child's online activity in order to function. When you set up the Services for your child, you are directing us to collect and process information about that child's device and online activity as described in this policy.
Verifiable parental consent. Assure ID is currently offered as a private, invitation-only beta to a limited number of families. During this period, we obtain parental consent through the creation of an authenticated adult account and your affirmative setup of your child's profile, and you represent that you are the child's parent or legal guardian. When Assure ID becomes generally available as a paid subscription, parental consent will be verified through the payment process, using a credit or debit card that provides transaction notification to the account holder, consistent with COPPA's requirements.
By creating a child profile, you represent that you are the parent or legal guardian of that child and that you consent to the collection, storage, and processing of information about that child as described in this policy.
You further warrant that: (a) you have informed any household member aged 13 or older that the associated devices, applications, and browser extension include activity monitoring and AI-assisted features, and have obtained their authorization; or (b) applicable law in your jurisdiction exempts you from this obligation or sets a different threshold, in which case that threshold applies.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child except as directed by the child's parent through the Services. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without a parent's authorization, contact us at support@assureid.io and we will delete it promptly.
We collect your email address, the nickname(s) of minors under your legal guardianship, your state of residency, the date(s) of birth of minors under your legal guardianship, and any other household information you choose to provide. This data is required to create your account.
We collect the preferences and settings parents provide to set up and personalize the Services. Some are optional.
When the browser extension or child application is active, we collect information about the online content your child views and related device and session activity. The AI Assistant uses this to generate its analysis and guidance. This information is collected about your child at your direction to provide the Services to your family.
As the AI Assistant analyzes content, it produces the analysis, guidance, and actions that make up the Service. This may involve processing sensitive information about the content your child views, which we use only to provide the Services and to notify you according to your settings. We process it only with your consent, do not use it for advertising, and do not sell it. The Services are not a diagnostic or crisis tool, do not detect all harmful content, and are not a substitute for parental supervision or emergency services.
We collect device and technical information such as device and browser type, settings, identifiers used to deliver notifications, app activity, and standard log data such as IP address and session information. Where you enable device-level controls on iOS, the child application uses the operating system's built-in controls to apply the limits you configure. We do not use your data for advertising and do not use advertising identifiers for ad targeting.
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session continuity, remembering your preferences, and analytics. Our analytics may be associated with your account. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, though some functionality may be limited. The applications may use device identifiers for these purposes in place of cookies. We do not use advertising identifiers for ad targeting.
We use personal data to provide the Services; create and manage your account and family profiles; deliver the AI Assistant, its analysis, guidance, and notifications; operate the applications, extension, and web portal; improve the Services; send service, support, and (with your consent) marketing communications; and comply with law.
We process a child's information, the sensitive-information categories described above, and marketing email only with your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting support@assureid.io. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.
The AI Assistant makes automated decisions about how content is presented to your child, such as allowing content, surfacing a guidance prompt, limiting repeated exposure, or blocking content, based on its analysis and the settings you provide. You configure these behaviors and can review and override them. These decisions relate to how content is displayed within the Services and are not used to make legal or similarly significant decisions about you or your child. Questions: support@assureid.io.
We treat your personal data with confidentiality and do not sell it. We use the service providers below to operate the Services. Each processes personal data only to provide services to us, consistent with our agreements with them, and we do not permit them to use it for their own purposes:

We instruct our AI providers to process your data and your child's data only to generate responses within the Services, and not to use it to train their models. Any retention by these providers is limited to what is necessary to operate and secure their services.
We may also disclose data to comply with law or lawful requests, to deliver the Services or fulfill the Terms, and in connection with a sale, merger, or change of control, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including child profile data. These include access controls that scope data to the authenticated account, encryption of data in transit and at rest, PIN protection for sensitive parent and child controls, restricted internal access, and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure. In the event of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you as required by applicable law and take prompt remediation steps.
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, and we retain account and family data for the duration of your active use of the Services. You can delete your account and your family's data at any time, either in the app (Settings, then Delete account) or by contacting support@assureid.io; when you request deletion by contacting us, we verify your identity first. In either case, we delete the personal data we hold about you and your child from our active systems within 30 days of account closure or a verified request, except where the law requires us to retain it. We may retain de-identified, aggregated data indefinitely for statistical purposes; this data cannot be used to identify you or your household.
The Services are intended for residents of the United States. We do not offer the Services to individuals in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or other regions with cross-border data-transfer restrictions. Your data is collected and processed in the United States.
You may access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you or your child, and withdraw consent for any processing that relies on consent. To make a request, contact support@assureid.io. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law (and in any event within 45 days, extendable by a further 45 days with notice). California residents have additional rights, described in Section 10.
If you reside in California, you have additional rights. In the past 12 months we have collected these categories: identifiers (email, IP address); customer records (account and profile data); internet or network activity (activity via the extension and applications, app usage); inferences (the AI Assistant's analysis and decisions); and sensitive personal information, which may include certain optional preferences you provide and safety-related signals. We use sensitive personal information only to provide the Services you configured.
To submit a request, contact support@assureid.io with information sufficient to verify your identity. You may submit a request to know or delete twice within a 12-month period.
If you participate in a beta or early-access program, we may collect additional usage, interaction, and feedback data to evaluate performance and identify issues; feedback you provide may be used to improve the Services and will not be attributed to you in public communications; the Services are under active development and these practices may evolve; and we will notify you of material changes before they take effect. Questions: support@assureid.io.
You may receive service alerts and notices as part of the Services. You may opt out of marketing communications by clicking "unsubscribe" in any marketing email or by contacting support@assureid.io.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any right described in this policy, including by denying Services, charging different prices, or providing a different level of quality.
You represent that you have all necessary consents or other lawful bases for any personal data you submit about members of your household, including any household member whose device or activity is associated with your account.
We may update this policy to reflect changes in law, our Services, or our practices. We will notify you of material changes by posting a clear notice on our website and platform and updating the effective date. For material changes to how we handle your child's data, we will provide notice before the change takes effect.
